Your Weekly Update on Technology, Democracy, & Cool Things

Happy Monday, Readers! This weekend kicked off A Mission-Driven Drupal Conference through NYC Camp in concurrence with Open Campus at the United Nations. This annual conference unites the minds of driven beginners and expert developers from around the world. The program was filled with sessions, sprints, and keynotes on reaching democratic solutions through technology-based initiatives. Today’s summit marked the end of the conference and covered various topics, including higher education, media and digital publishing, non-profit work, and security.

Senior Program Manager of NDItech, Chris Doten, presented on DemTools this morning with teammate and project lead of the Aegir Project, Christopher Gervais. The commitment exemplified by Doten and Gervais in solving problems of inequality and exclusive political processes manifests in the evolution of DemTools. This suite of web-based applications strives to empower marginalized groups through comprehensive Open Source Software.
